Today i have a 'argument' with a friend about why many of us having hard time to start to do our own business. I use the word 'argument' because we have a conflict of ideas about this issue. However, nobody can determine who is right and who is wrong, mainly because we have different personality. I writing to summarize all our conversation in this topic here for my today blog.
Of course there are many of people are looking forward to do own business, with 2 main reasons: (1) with a thinking that it is the way of getting a lot more of money, (2) want to be a boss - for ego or self esteem needs.
So, what are things that restricting us to start a business ? Well, there are, a lot of reasons, but most people do not see the issue that could be come from, or within themselves but they like to blame for many other "reasons", examples, no opportunities, no capital, no this lah, no that lah ... blah blah blah.
Why? Let see, there are many successful businessmen started their businesses without money or just minimum money, and there are also a lot more businessmen who had invested a huge amount of money, but their business is still not growing / not doing well or some failed. So, we cannot just blame for no enough resources to start a business, Okay, there are plenty of business opportunities are already around us, but many people just cannot see it. And also some of us keep waiting for the one opportunity that is easy to do and also easy earn money... so...keep waiting and waiting...
Another reason that a person prefer not to start business is because there are already in the comfort zone/lifestyle, and do not wish to make a big/serious change to his/her current lifestyle, since they can not find a better alternative, simply because his/her current job is already good, and he/she just do not happy with it. Yes, this is the human nature, most people always do not satisfy with what they already had) Thus, they keep looking for better alternative... but can't find, why? As I have said, their current situation/lifestyle are already better than many other people, but they don't even realize it.
When a person without a stress/pressure on them, to seek for extra income. I mean the 'pressure' like insufficient household income for their family members, but this is also depends on how responsible of the person, otherwise, the person will not take a big change, to start a business to earn more income for the family.
The attitudes, ego or recognition, may also influence a person whether to implement a big changes. Also, he/she must be a risk taker and no passive attitude...etc, and those are related the personality elements of a person. Without those, they will will just stay on with what they are doing right now. What do you think ?
